Today, 70+ first and second year band students gathered at WHS for the 11th Annual Lebo-Waverly Elementary Band Festival! They worked hard on their music for hours with our two fabulous clincians and put on an amazing concert! Congratulations to all these musicians and a big thank you to all the student, parent, and staff volunteers who helped out!
Great news, WGS Bullpup families! The bathroom floor was sanded, stall walls were put back up, and the restroom was officially opened for use again late Friday afternoon. The restoration team has also completed condensation removal and taken out all their equipment. Huge thanks to everyone who worked quickly to get these repairs done! #ItsAGreatDayToBeABulldog

WGS Building Update: The girls' bathroom floor drain trap in the has been repaired, and new concrete has been poured. As it sets, plumbers plan to return Thursday (weather permitting) to complete the concrete work, with stall walls and dividers set to be reinstalled on Saturday.
For the restoration work, electrical cords were run and and breakers were installed this morning, allowing crews to begin work . They accessed the space between the two roofs and set up drying equipment. This will run for several days before being re-evaluated to determine if further steps are needed.

The girls' bathroom floor has been jackhammered out to repair the drain trap. We have been told the work should be completed within the week.
Additionally, we are waiting for the hired contractor to run the necessary wiring so the restoration company can operate the equipment needed to address the moisture issue between the old roof and the new roof.

Mrs. Self and I have been working to address the moisture issues in the school. Stover Restoration will be using high-powered dehumidifiers to remove excess moisture from the old roof. We also met with Evergreen Construction, and they will be installing vents to improve air circulation between the two roofs, as well as adding higher-level vents in the boiler room. New safety signs have been installed on the boiler room door, and we are continuing efforts to clean the space thoroughly.
Additionally, we are researching professional-grade Carbon Monoxide and Natural Gas detection equipment and working on bids for CO detectors that integrate into our Simplex system for enhanced safety.
