Congratulations to Colton Stice! Colton placed in the top two sophomore students at the Allen County Red Devil Math Relays on March 28th. The Math Relays this year hosted 180 students from 9 area high schools. As a top placer, Colton will be able to take a general education course at ACCC next year free of charge.

Waverly FCCLA will be having their annual Easter Basket Raffle. Funds raised will help local students attend leadership conferences. Forms can be found at either school office or with a member. Drawing will be held April 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM.

USD 243 is excited to announce that Mrs. Alice Preeo has been selected as the new Principal of Waverly Grade School!
Mrs. Preeo comes to us from Neosho Rapids Elementary, where she served as Head Teacher and a third-grade teacher. She brings a wealth of experience in classroom instruction, teacher mentorship, and school leadership. Mrs. Preeo has also worked closely with Emporia State University to support future educators through mentoring and evaluation.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Educational Administration, both from Emporia State University. She is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Her professional certifications include a K-6 Elementary Education license and a pending K-12 Building Leadership endorsement.
What sets Mrs. Preeo apart is her passion for supporting both the academic and emotional growth of students, her commitment to staff development, and her deep understanding of small, rural school communities. She’s led professional learning communities (PLCs), implemented behavior support systems, and contributed significantly to school culture initiatives such as PBIS.
Mrs. Preeo and her husband, Gage, live in Hartford with their two sons—Hayden (9) and Laiken (5)—who will proudly be joining the Bulldog and Bullpup family this fall.
