Angela Davies currently teaches Math & Science for grades 4th and 5th. She graduated from Emporia State University in 1989 with a Bachelor's Degree and again in 1993 with her  Masters degree with a reading concentration. Her favorite thing to do is go camping with her family. She also enjoys kayaking (or anything in the water) and taking her husky, Dexter, for Jeep rides! Angela was born in California and moved around a lot as a kid (military family). She lived in California, Guam, Washington D.C. and Virginia Beach. She moved to Manhattan, KS when she was in 8th grade, so that's where she considers her hometown. Angela is wrapping up her 35th year of teaching! She has taught every grade K-6 with the exception of 1st. She has also taught reading and math interventions for K-12.  Several times,  she would teach the same class in Kindergarten, 5th and then move up and teach them 6th. She doesn't have a favorite grade; there is something to enjoy about all of them.  Angela keeps a post-it note on her desk that reads "I like it here!" as a reminder that there is always something to be enjoyed no matter where you find yourself. She believes it is up to you to change your mindset and enjoy the ride! She also keeps a picture of herself at whatever grade she is teaching. This reminds her of what she felt like when she was the same age as her students. She often asks herself if she would want to be a student in her own class. Elementary school was not fun or easy for Mrs. Davies (she even ran away from school in 2nd grade). Therefore, she tries to make learning fun and create meaningful relationships with her students.

Her husband, Jim Davies, farms and ranches in Reading, KS. Her oldest son, Blake, graduated from Lebo High School in 2012. He and his wife, Megan, live in north Kansas City, MO where he works for American Century in finance. Her middle son, Derek (2017 LHS Graduate) received his degree in Agronomy from KSU.  He and his wife, Haylee, have a daughter, Kinze- Mrs. Davies' first grandchild! Luke (2023 LHS Graduate) is attending KSU and majoring in Ag Tech. Angela is most looking forward to spending time decorating her new house and babysitting her new granddaughter during retirement!
